I created this painting from life while living in Qatar. It can be truly considered to be a lucky one as I received a request for a botanical watercolor collection thanks to it.
I don’t know what attracted me more in this simple plant: curved symmetrical leaves, small pink flowers or unforgettable scent that filled the whole apartment. Transparent water drops dropped down every time when I took the basil out of water to have a closer look, so I painted them as well. In my artwork I tried to convey the beauty and elegance of this plant.
In general, I love botanical art. I enjoy creating it and viewing botanical art by other artists. To me, botanical art is one of the best ways to convey beauty and harmony of nature.
I used only professional materials for this painting to ensure its long life.
