This is a short review of The Design Show that was held in Cairo at the beginning of June 2023. It featured the most famous companies in architecture, interior and exterior design.
Glowing marble is a very popular trend in the Middle East nowadays.
The idea by Elprince PMG Group of using it on the floor, continuing to the wall, and then reflecting it in the ceiling mirror creates a magical impression makes the space looks bigger.
Beautiful stone and marble design ideas with smooth and rounded shapes are presented by JAZ Company. Their products can be used indoors and outdoors due to different levels of marble processing.
Of course, I could not miss contemporary art. Combination of figurative and geometric subjects with limited color palette looks very interesting and goes along well with comtemporary design.
Traditional wood carved geometric patterns were also presented in the exibition.
An amazing space was created by the largest crystal products producer in Egypt Asfour Company. It featured beautiful glass installations and crystal sculptures. While looking at them I imagined how amazingly these glass sea creatures would look in an interior of a seafood restaurant.
This textile wallpaper would look great in a tropical-themed interior. However, I would remove the textile flowers as they create unnecessary visual noise.
Minimalistic geometrical metal figures presented by IFI Company would look great outdoors and indoors.
The creatively designed entrance by Alamein Company reminds a fantasy forest. The company specializes in high-quality outdoor furniture.
Decorative Glass Company presented high-quality glass prints that can be used widely in the interior on glass doors, section dividers, etc.
I like attending art and design exhibitions as they boost my imagination and give me more experience in contemporary design solutions and the role of art in them.
